Venus Williams vs Ajla Tomljanovic prediction

Venus Williams competes in the ATX Open and has already been handed a wildcard for Indian Wells next month. She is yet to win a match this season, as she was defeated in the first-round of events in Auckland and Hobart, along with a first-round loss at the Australian Open. She looked on course for a win over Olga Danilovic after going a double break up in the decider, but relinquished the advantage as the Serb came back to win in three sets.

The seven-time Grand Slam singles champion faces Ajla Tomljanovic in the first-round. The Australian has not featured on tour since her second-round defeat to Elena-Gabriela Ruse in Melbourne. 

Williams is 45 years old and while she can still compete, winning a number of matches on a consistent basis seems a step too far. Tomljanovic is still a dangerous player, despite not being at her best these days, and she can get this match done in straight sets.
