Valentin Vacherot vs Tomas Machac prediction

Valentin Vacherot bagged one of the biggest wins of his career as he came from behind to beat in-form Alexander Bublik.

The Monegasque continued his swashbuckling run from qualifying courtesy of a 3-6 6-3 6-4 success over the 14th seed.

The world number 204 will now meet Tomas Machac for the first time to battle for a place in the round of 16.

The Czech 20th seed produced some solid and hugely consistent tennis as he eased past Mattia Bellucci by a 6-3 6-4 scoreline. 

Machac may be ranked lower than Bublik but there were perhaps question marks over the Kazakhstani’s hunger given his recent title-winning exploits, but that can’t be said of Tomas who will be highly motivated here.

If the Czech emulates his performance in the second round he’ll have too much on the day and Vacherot’s surprise run will come to an end.
