Valentin Vacherot vs Jiri Lehecka prediction
In his first event since pulling off one the biggest shocks in tennis at the Shanghai Masters, where he became the lowest ranked player to win a 1000 event, Valentin Vacherot’s winning run came to an end in Basel despite a battling performance against world number four Taylor Fritz. He took the first set but Fritz edged out the next two to win. The Monegasque now turns his attention to the final Masters event of the year in Paris.
Jiri Lehecka will be his first-round opponent. The Czech, who has enjoyed a solid year on tour, made it through to his second successive final at the European Open but could not win the title once again after a defeat to Felix Auger-Aliassime. Lehecka then competed at the Swiss Indoors but was on the end of a surprising defeat to Botic van de Zandschulp.
Lehecka will hope to put that disappointment behind him quickly with a solid first-round performance and he should have too much for Vacherot,
