Valentin Royer vs Stefanos Tsitsipas prediction

There were definitely positive signs for Stefanos Tsitsipas to take from his time at the Canadian Open after having been knocked out in Washington D.C in the first round. He made it to the third round in Montreal, winning the first two rounds in straight sets before losing to Joao Fonseca. Whilst that was a two-set match, both were close frames, Tsitsipas losing 6-7, 5-7.

Valentin Royer was out in the second round at the Canadian Open, going down to USA’s Tommy Paul. A tough opponent no doubt, but it feels like this match really comes down to Tsitsipas. If he plays at the standards of which he’s capable of, you’d expect him to get the better of Royer. An under-par showing though and the Frenchman will make him pay. We may see a close one here and backing three sets to be played warrants consideration.
