Ugo Humbert vs Quentin Halys prediction
Ugo Humbert reached a second successive quarter-final on grass after beating Jenson Brooksby in straight sets. This was a rematch of last year’s semi-final at the event, which saw Brooksby come from behind to win, but it was a different outcome on this occasion as Humbert saved all eight break points on offer and went on to win 6-3 6-2.
He will now face fellow countryman Quentin Halys in the last eight. Halys beat Giles Hussey in straight sets. The 29-year-old only entered the main draw of the tournament as a lucky loser, having lost to Toby Samuel in qualifying, but he made a really strong start and held off a Hussey fightback in the second to win 6-1 7-5.
Halys does lead the head-to-head after beating Humbert in the first-round of this year’s Roland Garros. Nevertheless, Humbert’s game is more suited to grass, and he will be expected to come through this one.
