Tristan Schoolkate vs Rinky Hijikata prediction

Tristan Schoolkate began his season at the Brisbane International but failed to qualify after a straight sets defeat to compatriot James Duckworth in the first stage. He reached his first ATP quarter-final at the Los Cabos Open last year and won his second Masters 1000 match at the Canadian Open after an impressive win over Joao Fonseca.

He takes on fellow Australian Rinky Hijikata in round one. Hijikata fared better in Brisbane as he was able to qualify and then won his first-round match against Adam Walton. He took the first set against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard but could not get the job done as he lost the next two sets on tiebreaks.

In terms of form to start the season, Hijikata has the momentum compared to Schoolkate. He showed an impressive level at times in Brisbane and will be hopeful of producing a similar level here ahead of the Australian Open next week.
