Daniel Altmaier will have revenge in mind when he meets Tristan Schoolkate in Shanghai.
The world number 50 was beaten 6-3 6-4 by the Aussie in Los Cabos earlier this year and has lost two of his last three after a run to the US Open third round.
Schoolkate, who sits at 100 in the rankings, ended a run of three straight defeats with some solid wins in qualifying, but his tour-level success has been limited for most of this year.
Altmaier is happier on clay, so that will give the Aussie underdog a chance here, but we still feel the German will have the edge even if there is a scare along the way.
