Tristan Boyer vs Brandon Holt prediction

Tristan Boyer and Brandon Holt do battle in an all-American first round clash in Cincinnati.

Both players will have designs on pushing into the top 100 with the 24-year-old Boyer hoping to build on a run from qualifying to round two in Toronto.

Holt is three years older and ranked 25 places above his compatriot but hasn’t picked up a tour-level win since Mallorca and has just one all year. 

Indeed, Holt has been mainly making an impact on the Challenger circuit, but will aim to raise his level as they battle for ranking points and bragging rights.

Boyer is a player that will feel he has the greater upward trajectory as he continues a solid debut campaign at the highest level and he looks like the better bet for this one, although it does feel like whoever wins the opening set will come out on top.
