Tommy Paul has gone through a difficult and entertaining run to this final with a three-set defeat of Learner Tien in the semi-finals backing up wins against long-time friend Taylor Fritz, Adam Walton and Corentin Moutet. Paul reached the round of 16 at the Dallas Open last week after a fourth round exit at the Australian Open.
Sebastian Korda, having reached the final of ATP Challenger San Diego and then the quarter-finals of the Dallas Open last week, has continued his fine form with victories against McKenzie McDonald and Alex Michelsen in two sets before impressive and hard-fought wins against Casper Ruud and Flavio Cobolli.
Korda and Paul have both beaten opponents with immense pedigree ahead of this final and there should be some good tennis on display in what looks like it could be quite a long match, albeit one that Paul is favourite for.
