Learner Tien was knocked out by Marin Cilic in the first round of the Dallas Open before recovering in Florida at this tournament with two hard-fought three-set victories against Miomir Kecmanovic and Frances Tiafoe to set up a semi-final clash with compatriot Paul on Saturday night.
This one does appear to be quite a tough call but Paul is playing the better tennis of the two and so siding with him would appear the way to go here.
