Tommy Paul vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction

Tommy Paul has had a comfortable route through to the round of 16 so far having beaten Tristan Boyer and Cam Norrie in straight sets.

He will however face a stiff test now however as he comes up against fifth-seed Daniil Medvedev on court one on Tuesday.

The pair have met four times before and it is Medvedev who has won three of those meetings. That said, it was Tommy Paul who won the last meeting in Rome last year 6-1 6-4 albeit on clay. They met in the semis at Indian Wells last year and Medvedev won in a three-set battle 1-6 7-6 6-2.

Medvedev was handed a walkover in the last round as Alex Michelsen withdrew after just two games of that match. With Medvedev winning his opening match against Yunchaokete Bu 6-2 6-2, there is a chance that while he is well rested, he may be a little under-cooked coming into a match like this.

He will have to hit the ground running against Paul and that may be easier said that done. He comes in as the marginal favourite but we are not sure we go with that here. Paul could well be the sharper of the two and he could make a fast start pay off. We see this going deep and our preference is on game betting and the overs.
