Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Karen Khachanov prediction

Tomas Martin Etcheverry pulled off an upset in the round-of-16 as he beat two-time finalist Andrey Rublev in a thrilling contest. The Argentine made the stronger start, taking the first set and had the opportunity to serve out the match but wasn’t unable to do so, despite having a match point. Rublev forced a decider and then looked to have gained the upper hand in the final set tiebreak, but the Russian let two match points of his own slip by. Etcheverry regained his composure to earn a dramatic win and now takes on Karen Khachanov in the quarters.

Khachanov recorded a first win on grass over Felix Auger-Aliassime to book his place in the last eight. The Russian gained a crucial break midway through the decider to seal a 6-3 1-6 6-3 win.

They have only played against each other once before and that took place over two years ago in the second-round of the Miami Open, with Khachanov winning in three sets. Etcheverry has enjoyed an encouraging week considering his lack of pedigree on grass, but we expect it to come to an end at the hands of the world number 22.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Karen Khachanov tip: Karen Khachanov to win 2-0
