Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Flavio Cobolli prediction

Flavio Cobolli will chase a second clay-court final of the year when he meets Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the last four in Hamburg.

The Italian outclassed Roberto Bautista Agut, breaking down the Spaniard’s weary forehand to triumph 7-6 6-0 in a lopsided quarter-final.

Etcheverry also arrives in the last four in sublime form having defeated Jiri Lehecka 7-5 6-3 to make it three Hamburg wins without dropping a set. 

This will be their second tour-level meeting after Etcheverry secured a four-set success at this year’s Australian Open.

They have also battled three times below tour level with the Argentine winning on each occasion.

This is already Etcheverry’s best run of the season and it is no doubt a welcome return to form for the South American, but Cobolli will be a tougher nut to crack than on any of their previous encounters and may well break his duck to reach the showdown for the trophy.
