The final of this event is between Italy and Denmark.

Italy reached the final by breaking the world record in their race against New Zealand in the third heat of the first round.

The previous Olympic record had been held by Denmark, who had only set that in the qualification a couple of days ago, and the previous world record was also held by Denmark. The Danes pulled off an impressive victory with a controversial ending over Team GB in order to reach this final.

TSZ’S PREDICTION

Both teams have raced very quickly in these games so far to reach this stage. Denmark set the Olympic Record and then Italy smashed that in order to break the world record just one day later. However, it is expected that the Italian record set against New Zealand is their peak and Denmark will still be expected to come back a little stronger in order to come out on top here.
