WHO ARE THE LEADING MEDAL CONTENDERS?

This final is between Pat McCormack of Great Britain and Roniel Iglesias of Cuba.

McCormack’s route to the final has been fairly comfortable with a unanimous victory against Aliaksandr Radzionau of Belarus in the second round before an easy win against Bob-Usmon Baturov of Uzbekistan in the quarter-finals before Irishman Aidan Walsh withdrew from their proposed semi-final bout.

Roniel Iglesias edged his second round bout 3-2 against Sewon Okazawa of Japan before winning his quarter-final and semi-final bouts 5-0 against Delante Johnson of the United States and then the Russian Olympic Committee’s Andrey Zamkovoy.

TSZ’S PREDICTION

Iglesias has had to come through a more challenging route to this final and he will come into this bout as the underdog. His victory, especially with such comfort, against Zamkovoy in the semi-final was a huge surprise but that run of form is not expected to continue into the final and McCormack is likely to come out on top.

TSZ Tip: PAT McCORMACK (GREAT BRITAIN) TO WIN
