THE PREDICTION

Mexico were involved in an absolutely thrilling quarter-final vs South Korea that saw them triumph 6-3 in an incredible match. Their reward is a showdown with Brazil, whose passage to the semi-finals was more low key as they overcame Egypt 1-0. In their four games played so far in this tournament, Mexico have racked up 14 goals and won’t be afraid of taking the game to the Brazilians here. However, with attacking players such as Cunha and Richarlison within their ranks, Brazil pose a huge threat going forward themselves and will be confident of finding the net at least once against a Mexican defence who have kept just one clean sheet across the competition. The all-round experience and quality of Brazil across the pitch from defence to attack, should see them advance to the gold medal match, although backing both teams to score looks a shrewd move when taking into account that Mexico have found the net at least once in every game they have played in the tournament thus far.
