Titouan Droguet was able to qualify for the tournament after two straight wins. He competed on the Challenger Tour in Quimper last week, making the quarter-finals after beating Federico Arnaboldi and Aleksandar Kovacevic. He failed to qualify for the Australian Open for the third straight year, but he does have six wins from his nine matches in 2026 so far.
He faces Jan Choinski. His only event was in the qualifying rounds of the Australian Open, and it came to an abrupt end as he lost to Leandro Riedi in straight sets. This will be the first ATP meeting between the pair but they have played twice before if qualifying matches and Challengers are included, with both players picking up one victory.
Droguet is more match fit, having competed in eight matches more than Choinski in the first month of the season. He will have home support and will be motivated to get through to the next round in Montpellier.
