The Frenchman arrived on the back of title success in Estoril but was upset for the second time in recent months by compatriot Titouan Droguet, who claimed a 6-4 2-6 7-5 win. 

The world number 119 now gets a shot at second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime. 

The Canadian will be eager to go deep on home turf and won’t take this lightly after being made to work by the qualifier for a 6-4 6-7 6-1 win in Montpellier earlier this year. 

Their second meeting may be a similar work-out at first, but the outcome should be the same.
