The 19-year-old now takes on Jacqueline Cristian for a place in the quarter-finals. Cristian comfortably booked her place in the second-round with a 6-4 6-3 win over Diane Parry. The Romanian number one is now on a six-match winning streak after her win at the Puerto Vallarta Open last month.
She’s playing with confidence, and we would not bet against her enjoying a very deep run in her first clay court event of the year. Though Rakotomanga Rajonah should take plenty of encouragement from her two qualifying wins and the victory over Bronetti, we don’t think she will challenge Cristian during this match.
