Thanasi Kokkinakis vs Sebastian Korda prediction

Thanasi Kokkinakis makes his singles return after a year out of the sport due to injury. The Australian underwent pectoral surgery back in February and was still struggling with chest and shoulder problems throughout the year. He competed in the doubles alongside Nick Kyrgios in Brisbane, making the round-of-16. He is outside the top 400 of the world rankings.

Sebastian Korda is his first-round opponent. The American began his season in Brisbane and got off to a strong start as he defeated Valentin Vacherot in straight sets. Korda then benefited from Jiri Lehecka retiring to get through to the quarter-finals, where he lost to Alex Michelsen in straight sets. This was a disappointment for the 25-year-old as he made a number of unforced errors, but the overall tournament was encouraging. He made the final of this event last year.

Korda leads the head-to-head 3-0. There are too many question marks over the fitness of Kokkinakis, and this should be a comfortable win for the American.

Thanasi Kokkinakis vs Sebastian Korda tip: Sebastian Korda to win 2-0
