Thanasi Kokkinakis vs Pablo Carreno Busta prediction
Thanasi Kokkinakis marked his return to action with a dramatic win over Terence Atmane in the first-round of the French Open. Aside from two qualifiers at a Challenger event in Zagreb, Kokkinakis had not competed on the tour since January, and he went two sets to one down against his opponent. He levelled the match in the fourth, but Atmane looked on course for victory as he opened up a 5-2 lead in the decider. However, Kokkinakis would reel off the final five games to seal a dramatic 6-7 (5) 6-2 4-6 6-3 7-5 win.
His next opponent is Pablo Carreno Busta. The Spaniard rolled back the years as he beat Jiri Lehecka in round one. The Czech had reached the final of the Miami Open earlier this year and is the current world number 12, but Carreno Busta did not even face a break point as he won 6-3 7-6 (3) 6-3.
Kokkinakis battled hard in his first-round match, but he’s likely to find it tough against Carreno Busta, who is still very effective at extending the rallies and drawing errors from his opponent.
