Terence Atmane vs Rafael Jodar prediction
Terence Atmane picked up a fine win in round one of the Mexican Open as he defeated 2014 champion Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets. The Frenchman only conceded two break points on his serve and was largely dominant throughout, winning 6-3 6-3 after one hour and 22 minutes. He will be aiming to reach his first quarter-final of the season with a win in his next match.
He takes on Rafael Jodar in the round-of-16. The young Spaniard put in a fine display to beat 2022 finalist Cameron Norrie. The 19-year-old made just six unforced errors and did not face a break point on his serve as he won 6-3 6-2 after just 55 minutes. This was Jodar’s first victory at an ATP 500 event, and he’s rapidly closing in on the top 100 of the world rankings.
Atmane will take confidence from his win in the first-round, but it’s difficult to look past Jodar, who is beginning to become a real threat on the tour.
