Terence Atmane ended a four-match losing run in Delray Beach last week, as he won his first-round match against Patrick Kypson in three sets. However, he would then fall to a defeat against Flavio Cobolli in the next stage of the tournament.
He faces Grigor Dimitrov in the first-round of the Mexican Open. The Bulgarian has lost three of his four matches in 2026 so far. He was handed a tough draw at the Australian Open as he fell to a straight sets defeat to Tomas Machac, and he then followed that up with a loss to Alex Michelsen in Dallas despite taking the first set.
Dimitrov will want to produce a much better showing this week, having won this event 12 years ago. The 34-year-old has faced Atmane on one previous occasion, defeating the Frenchman 7-6 6-3 in the third-round of the Italian Open two years ago. Atmane could trouble Dimitrov at times, but his consistency and experience in key moments should be enough for victory.
