This is a huge opportunity for one of qualifier Yue Yuan or wildcard Jaimee Fourlis to win on their US Open debut. Both players have enjoyed some success on the ITF circuits this season, particularly Fourlis who made her first Grand Slam appearance in four years at Wimbledon last month. 23-year-old Yuan made her Grand Slam debut at Wimbledon and played well in a defeat to Amanda Anisimova and she could have the edge in this first meeting with Fourlis with three matches under her belt this week. This match is well worth leaving out of an accumulator but back the qualifier to win at least a set with better momentum coming in.
