21-year-old Xiyu Wang should break the top 50 on tour for the first time, no matter the outcome of this tight semi-final with Jasmine Paolini, after beating Nuria Parrizas-Diaz in fairly comfortable fashion on Friday. The Chinese rising star has beaten the likes of Barbora Krejcikova, Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sakkari in recent months and if she finds her best level in this first meeting with Paolini she looks the slight favourite to reach a first tour final. World number 78 Paolini has taken three impressive wins this week, though, most recently and most notably beating Jule Niemeier in straight sets on Friday.
