THE PREDICTION
World number 126 Tomas Machac qualified well this week, continuing form from a recent Challenger win in Poland, to make his US Open debut here on Monday. The Czech has reached the second round of the Australian Open in back-to-back seasons but he has drawn a short straw here in Van de Zandschulp, whose consistency has been remarkable over the last 12 months.
