THE PREDICTION
World number 60 Tamara Zidansek was ranked as high as 22nd last year after a huge run to the semi-finals of Roland-Garros and a first WTA title won at the Lausanne Open but the 24-year-old has struggled so far this season. The Slovenian has won two of five matches on grass this June, though, and she claimed the Women’s Doubles title at ‘s-Hertogenbosch a few weeks ago for some pretty solid form on grass coming into Wimbledon. The same cannot be said for 23-year-old Panna Udvardy, whose last tour-level victor came almost a year ago at the Hungarian Open where she reached the quarter-finals on home soil. Zidansek should be able to come through in straight sets here but the outright pick is a suitably cautious concession on grass.
