19-year-old Diane Parry backed up her victory over the out-of-sorts defending champion Barbora Krejcikova on Monday with a straight-sets victory over an excellent clay-courter in Camila Osorio. The French prospect will set a new career-high WTA world ranking of at least 81st no matter the outcome here but she could break the top 70 with a win here, usurping current world number 64 Sloane Stephens in the live ranking if she does. 29-year-old Stephens has grabbed back-to-back wins on tour for the first time since winning the Guadalajara Open back in February with two comeback wins over Jule Niemeier and 26th seed Sorana Cirstea. The 2017 US Open champion was runner-up here a year later to Simona Halep and she favours the clay, with her very best level fleeting but world-beating on her day. This match should be kept well away from an accumulator as predicting Stephens to do anything is always a risk. Take the American to win at least a set as the likelier of two capable victors, even though the former world number six should be coming through solidly here.
