World number 41 Shuai Zhang is through to the quarter-finals of a promising Nottingham Open campaign after back-to-back straight-sets results over Cristina Bucsa and Jodie Burrage. The 33-year-old won the Lyon Open back in February in a similar vein of quiet form and she fares a decent chance at coming through this first tour-level meeting with world number 60 Tereza Martincova. 27-year-old Martincova has also impressed this week with back-to-back straight-set victories over Oceane Dodin and Magda Linette to match her run to the quarter-finals here last season. The Czech is possibly at her best on grass and she is well capable of an upset here. This could come down to the wire, so backing Shuai Zhang to win at least a set as the just-about likelier victor seems sensible.
