World number 45 Shuai Zhang has enjoyed an impressive 2022 so far with a third WTA title won at the Lyon Open and a further final reached at the Birmingham Classic in June before an injury saw her have to hand the title to Beatriz Haddad-Maia. The 33-year-old beat world number 122 Cristina Bucsa in straight sets the week before Birmingham, in the first round of the Nottingham Open, to take her lead up to 2-0 in their head-to-head. 24-year-old Bucsa qualified well this weekend to make the main draw at the Canada Masters for a first time but she has won just two tour-level matches this season and she is yet to take a set from Shuai Zhang. Back the Chinese to take this in two sets outside of an accumulator but outright inside one for caution’s sake.
