Former world number 30 Sebastian Korda has been enduring a difficult second season on tour after an excellent 2021 saw him win a maiden ATP title at the Emilia-Romagna Open and a round of 16 exit at Wimbledon. The 22-year-old has reached back-to-back third rounds this season in Melbourne and Paris, missing out on Wimbledon through injury, and more recently he has impressed with wins over the likes of Grigor Dimitrov, Karen Khachanov and Frances Tiafoe in Washington and Cincinnati. This looks a kind opener against world number 106 Facundo Bagnis, who would fancy his chances over five sets on his favoured clay. The Argentine qualified well this week but a first meeting with home favourite Korda should be too steep a test on a hardcourt, on which he just two wins this season. Back Korda to win outright inside an accumulator but straight sets should do it.
