THE PREDICTION

World number 33 Sebastian Korda recently found some excellent form on tour to make back-to-back finals at the Gijon Open and European Open, finishing runner-up in both to Andrey Rublev and Felix Auger-Aliassime, respectively. The American has beaten the likes of Karen Khachanov, Dominic Thiem and Roberto Bautista Agut in recent weeks and he leads next opponent Alex de Minaur 1-0 in their head-to-head record after ousting the Aussie from last season’s Wimbledon in four sets. 23-year-old de Minaur has lost his last two matches to Holger Rune in the semi-finals of Stockholm and early in Basel last week. The world number 24 is never far from an excellent result amongst some fluctuations in form but Korda looks the more dependable performer at this moment in time. Back the American to win outright, or take at least a set inside an accumulator.
