THE PREDICTION
World number 37 Sebastian Baez grabbed one of the best results of his season, certainly the second half, with a straight-sets victory over home hopeful Lorenzo Sonego in a match that was delayed over two days. The 21-year-old claimed his maiden ATP title on clay this season at the Estoril Open but he has impressed on hardcourts too this year, notably earlier on at the Australian Open where he took Stefanos Tsitsipas to four tight sets. 26-year-old Zhizhen Zhang set a career-high ATP world ranking of 109th this week and he will break that no matter the outcome here after an excellent straight-sets victory over Marton Fucsovics. The Chinese will have to play two matches in quick succession on Thursday thanks to the poor running of the Napoli Cup and whilst that could see him start well against Baez, the longer this match takes the better rested the Argentine will prove to be. Back Baez to win outright here with two sets slightly more likely than three.
