25-year-old Sara Sorribes Tormo enjoyed one of the campaigns of her career last week with a run to the quarter-finals of the Madrid Open in front of joyous home fans. The Spaniard beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Daria Kasatkina and her next opponent Naomi Osaka en-route to the last eight before a straight-sets defeat to eventual runner-up Jessica Pegula and she should be well up for this immediate rematch with Osaka. Former world number one Osaka is well aware of her limitations on clay and the 24-year-old is still building up match fitness after a long period away from the tour. Sorribes Tormo has won the two most recent meetings on clay to take their head-to-head record to 2-2 and she can be backed to win at least a set on her favoured surface.
