World number 52 Andy Murray’s main priority this month is getting himself back inside the top 40 or beyond as he targets being seeded at Grand Slams. The former world number one has taken some time making his way back up the leaderboard after a successful return to the tour from surgery last year but a tough four-set defeat to John Isner in the second round at Wimbledon is exactly the kind of match he is trying to avoid early on in tournaments. Former world number 11 Sam Querrey has the potential on his favoured grass to be just as tough an opponent but the 34-year-old has struggled this grass swing. One win over Diego Schwartzman, who looked very uncomfortable on grass at Queen’s, is not for enough to suggest the American can cause another upset against Murray – although their previous meeting was that fateful five-setter at Wimbledon in 2017.
