World number 19 Pablo Carreno Busta has struggled pretty badly this season since losing to Matteo Berrettini in the round of 16 at the Australian Open but he looked better in a three-set loss to Jannik Sinner at the Miami Open last time out. The 30-year-old is an excellent all-courter with three ATP titles each on clay and hardcourts, most recently two on the clay at last season’s Andalucia Open and Hamburg Open. World number 66 Sebastian Baez has impressed in parts of this season as one of Argentina’s exciting young prospects. The 21-year-old reached the semi-finals of last season’s Next Gen ATP Finals as a last-minute replacement and he went toe-to-toe with Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Australian Open this January in a four set defeat. Baez reached a first tour final at the Chile Open on clay back in February before defeat to Pedro Martinez and he will be a serious threat to PCB here. The Spaniard is the clear favourite on ability but form suggests backing Baez to win at least a set is the shrewd move here.
