World number three Alexander Zverev coped well with potential banana skin Federico Delbonis on Wednesday, ousting the Argentine in straight sets. The 24-year-old won his first of five career Masters titles on clay at the Italian Open back in 2017 and two titles at the Madrid Open from 2018 and last season display his prowess on this surface where others liked him have struggled. World number 19 Pablo Carreno Busta is still probably the more visibly comfortable on this surface, with two titles won on clay last season to add to his career total of six ATP titles, but he struggled to put away Alexander Bublik on Wednesday. The 30-year-old had to come back from a set down against the big-serving Kazakh before Bublik was forced to retire in the third and Zverev should be able to provide the same test and then some here. PCB has lost to Zverev in both of their previous meetings, most recently a semi-final five-set epic at the 2020 US Open but he should be treated with respect on clay. Back Zverev to win outright.
