28-year-old Oscar Otte will break the top 50 in the ATP world rankings for a first time after receiving a walkover to the semi-finals of the Stuttgart Open, with Benjamin Bonzi pulling out. The current world number 61 is yet to drop a set this week on home soil with a strong result over Daniel Altmaier backed up by a mini-upset over Denis Shapovalov on Thursday, the latter of which is all the more impressive with the shock somewhat expected of him.
