World number two Ons Jabeur looks well set to reach her goal of becoming the first Arab to qualify for the WTA Finals at the end of the season and she could be all the more dangerous moving forwards with that pressure off her shoulders. The 28-year-old helped bring the WTA tour to her native Tunisia here at the Jasmin Open and she will be backed to the hilt all week long by raucous home fans as the clear favourite in a fairly tricky draw. World number 556 Evgeniya Rodina is enjoying her return to the tour this season after retiring a few seasons ago, beating Elena-Gabriela Ruse in comfortable fashion on Tuesday. The Russian took Ajla Tomljanovic to three sets at the US Open before defeat and she could prove a thorn in the side of Jabeur early-on. Jabeur looked well up to the challenge in a straight-sets victory over Ann Li on Tuesday but backing her to take this outright is a suitably cautious concession here.
