World number 124 Olga Danilovic is enjoying a very promising run of results at the Lausanne Open after qualifying last weekend. The 21-year-old won her first WTA title at the Moscow Cup almost exactly four years ago in a final with fellow youngster Anastasia Potapova that went to three sets on clay. The two meet here for a third time after Potapova, also 21, returned the favour with a win on hard at the Tashkent Open later that year. Whilst Danilovic’s career so far has been about early success and then returning from the wilderness this season, world number 79 Potapova claimed her first WTA title this season at the Istanbul Open back in April with an excellent victory over then in-form Veronika Kudermetova in the final. Potapova has claimed the better results this week over the likes of Irina-Camelia Begu and recent Wimbledon quarter-finalist Jule Niemeier but Danilovic has their only previous meeting on clay. With three sets likely, take Potapova to win at least a set as the just-about likelier victor considering she has form for winning this kind of tournament in recent months.
