THE PREDICTION

World number seven Novak Djokovic is the defending champion here in Paris and playing like it. The former world number one is riding a 19-match winning streak after dismantling Lorenzo Musetti on Friday, conceding just three games to the in-form Italian. World number five Stefanos Tsitsipas has enjoyed a similarly convincing week in Paris to beat Dan Evans, Corentin Moutet and Tommy Paul in straight sets. The 24-year-old is yet to have his serve broken, which is always a strong marker of his level at a tournament, but after taking two of the first three meetings with Djokovic in their head-to-head record there has been a dramatic shift back to the Serb’s dominance. 35-year-old Djokovic has won two of his four titles this season by defeating Tsitsipas in the Rome Masters final and last month’s Astana Open final, whilst it is three finals won on the spin including his victory in Paris last summer from two sets down to take the Roland-Garros trophy.

Djokovic has won each of their last seven encounters to lead the Greek 8-2 in their head-to-head and, whilst Tsitsipas should be up for the challenge today, the Serb can be backed to reach the final.
