World number seven Novak Djokovic comfortably beat Frances Tiafoe on Saturday to win his first Laver Cup fixture but it was his stunning defeat to Felix Auger-Aliassime on Sunday that spurred on Team World to a first ever victory in the competition. 35-year-old Djokovic saw one of his long-standing rivalries end last weekend with the retirement of Roger Federer and the Serb is likely to be feeling philosophical this week and beyond, with titles likely to follow. Djokovic is the clear favourite to win the Tel Aviv Open this weekend and he has been granted a kind opening fixture with fellow veteran Pablo Andujar here, their first meeting in a decade since Djokovic made it 2-0 in their head-to-head record at Indian Wells back in 2012. Andujar grabbed a first tour-level result since July with a straight-set victory over Thiago Monteiro on Wednesday but anything other than a straight-sets victory for Djokovic would be a surprise here.
