THE PREDICTION

World number one Novak Djokovic continued his defence of the Roland-Garros title with a straight-sets victory over impressive youngster Alex Molcan. 35-year-old Djokovic faced his ex-coach Marian Vajda for the first time and passed that particularly uncomfortable test with flying colours on Wednesday, backing up a blistering win over Yoshihito Nishioka in the first round. The Serb is riding a seven-match winning streak from winning the Italian Open last time out, where he beat Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets. In fact, the last player to take a set from Djokovic was Carlos Alcaraz in his defeat to the Spaniard in the semi-finals of the Madrid Open and Aljaz Bedene is unlikely to trouble that stat.

Bedene has impressed so far at Roland-Garros after coming back from a long injury lay-off in recent months but he trails Djokovic 3-0 in their head-to-head record without a set to his name and taking the defending champion to win in three looks reasonable here.
