World number 152 Yannick Hanfmann stunned Cristian Garin in straight sets on Tuesday, valiantly saving seven break point opportunities against one of the better clay-courters on tour. The German is at his best on this surface but so is next opponent Nicolas Jarry, another Chilean, who came back from a set down to beat Thiago Monteiro in three tight tiebreaks on Tuesday. Both qualified this week with a rare opportunity for a quarter-final huge motivation for both as they are currently ranked outside the top 100.
