NICOLAS JARRY VS CARLOS ALCARAZ PREDICTION

Nicolas Jarry picked up a much-needed win on Monday as he overcame Lorenzo Sonego 7-6 6-3. The 29-year-old’s form has not been great in recent months on the hard courts but that win will certainly boost his confidence.

He will needed that extra belief as he faces Carlos Alcaraz here. He can also take heart from the fact that he beat him earlier this year in Buenos Aires but it will likely be a different type of match on the hard courts rather than clay.

Alcaraz has not played a competitive match since Shanghai but he did play in Saudi Arabia where he lost to Jannik Sinner in another close and competitive encounter. He has had some time off since then so he should come into this fit and fresh.

It is hard to make a case for Jarry to get anything from this match. Alcaraz will be raring to go and while it is not a tournament where he has enjoyed much success in the past, we expect him to coast this opening match and win in straight sets.
