World number 95 Mikael Ymer beat an unwell Dan Evans in four sets on Thursday to reach the third round of Roland-Garros in successive seasons. The 23-year-old is widely thought of as much better than his current ranking suggests and he shocked Gael Monfils in the second round here last season over five impressive sets. Ymer has lost each of his three meetings with world number four Stefanos Tsitsipas but the Greek has already played nine sets of tennis in Paris as he continues to struggle to dominate. Tsitsipas, also 23, had to come back from two sets down to beat Lorenzo Musetti on Tuesday before a four-set scrap with Czech qualifier Zdenek Kolar late on Thursday, with the Suzanne-Lenglen crowd backing the underdog.
Tsitsipas will have to expect more of the same here against another player that should be well within his straight-sets range and Ymer will know to stay in every single point with the freedom of five sets. The sensible option remains taking Tsitsipas to win outright but you could consider taking the Greek to win and both teams to take a set here.
