24-year-old Taylor Fritz won his first ATP title at the Eastbourne International back in 2019 and the American made a return to the final via a thrilling three-set clash with the defending champion, Alex de Minaur. Fritz’ campaign has gone under the radar this week but after struggling to return to form after injury for some time he looks the slight favourite in this first meeting with Maxime Cressy on experience more than anything. 25-year-old Cressy, however, has been exceptional this week. The serve-and-volley throwback is treating the grass like it is the 90s this week, ousting top seed Cam Norrie, Dan Evans, Reilly Opelka and most recently an impressive Jack Draper with a bruising one-two punch that looks difficult to stop here. Both Americans are hard-hitters with tiebreaks in their matches this week and taking at least one in this final seems a suitable option. You could add Fritz to win at least a set as the just-about likelier of two very capable champions or leave the result totally up to chance.
