World number 76 Marta Kostyuk beat Viktorija Golubic and Barbora Krejcikova in an impressive run at the Eastbourne International last week before losing in three to Harriet Dart. The 19-year-old is a talented prospect with all the tools to reach the top of the WTA one day but inconsistency is currently her main foe on court. 23-year-old wildcard Katie Swan fares a decent chance at the upset here after a superb victory over Sloane Stephens at the Bad Homburg Open last week and she will be well-backed by a home crowd in her fifth appearance at Wimbledon. On paper, Kostyuk should be winning this first meeting in straight sets but backing the Ukrainian to win at least a set as the likelier of two capable victors is not as cautious as it may appear here.
