World number two Aryna Sabalenka finished runner-up to Elena Rybakina at Indian Wells on Sunday but she reacted well with a straight-sets victory over Shelby Rogers on Friday here in Miami. The 24-year-old beat Rybakina to lift her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open back in January and only the Kazakh and Barbora Krejcikova have managed to beat her so far this season. World number 36 Marie Bouzkova came back from a set down to beat Anna Blinkova on Friday, snapping a three-match losing streak. The Czech ended last season in remarkable form, with a run to the semi-finals eventually put out by runner-up Maria Sakkari, but she has struggled to find that intensity so far this year. Bouzkova, also 24, has been unfortunate to draw perhaps the shortest straw in the draw here so early on but she has the game to cause Sabalenka problems in their first meeting between the two. Back Sabalenka to win in straight sets here all the same but it might be worth taking the outright option inside an accumulator.
