World number 54 Marcos Giron qualified well this weekend, beating Denis Kudla and Fabio Fognini to the main draw of the Cincinnati Masters. The American tends to come into his best form towards the latter third of the season, on the North American hardcourt swing and especially at the Paris Masters, where he has reached the round of 16 un successive years. This looks an intriguing first round for both Giron and World number 62 David Goffin as the Belgian comes in a little sluggishly off the back of three-straight defeats, although he came agonisingly close to making the semi-finals of Wimbledon last month as he fell just short in a five-set epic with Cam Norrie. The former world number 10 should be coming through this comfortably on a good day but Giron leads their head-to-head 1-0 after a straight-set win in Antwerp two years ago. The suitably cautious pick here is taking Goffin to find his feet enough to win at least a set but this match is best left out of an accumulator.
